Policy & Advocacy

LI provides information, resources and training opportunities to develop the strength of women and girls ready to set their own agendas about issues important to the health and well-being in their own lives and to their families and community. Through our outreach programs, LI empowers Latinas to be more effective organizers in their community and more engaged in the political process.

The second annual Latina/o Advocacy Day was in February 2008; where close to 200 participants were trained and met with their elected officials at the Colorado State Capitol to discuss legislation under consideration. The 3rd annual LAD took place March 15-16, 2009. We increased our state-wide outreach and brought more Colorado citizens to the capitol to lobby on issues that are important to the Latina/o community.
